A mountain wedding, Blessed by natures magic

Oscar and Cornelia (with pup Hasse), an adventurous Swedish trio who fled Stockholm during the pandemic to move temporarily to Chamonix, making the most of the opportunity of home working, were swept away with the Mountains’ majesty and it won their heart and it soon became their home and destination for their dream mountain wedding.

So when they made the decision to tie the knot it was a perfect opportunity to gather friends and family in their Chamonix cocoon to celebrate their love and share their connection and passion for all that the mountains offered them. And Nature truly blessed them, after a very slow start to the winter, finally the snow arrived just 10 days ahead of their special day.

Freshly covered snowy peaks and every bit of the evergreen trees sprinkled with snow and frost, a cold spell that just kept this beauty frozen in time perfectly in the run up to their special day.

As friends and family arrived in the Chamonix valley, snow filled days of exploring, mountain lunches and more, gave Oscar and Cornelia the time to slowly open this special chapter of their life in the mountains.

The special day

The die-hard skiers squeezed in a morning ski ahead of preparations to meet at the iconic Saint Michel Church in Chamonix.

A beautiful ceremony within an architecturally stunning backdrop, they made their commitments to one another surrounded by their loved ones. So fitting to then leave the Church to be surrounded by the steep snowy mountain peaks and so it was time to warm up and celebrate in the comfort of the Cabane. Canapés and Raclette as well as flowing champagne, kicked off the merriment of the evening. Dinner was served, interspersed with plenty of heartfelt words, mini discos, creating an atmosphere of love that was tangible. It was then party time – the dance floor filled and never ceased to empty until the early hours.

The celebrations were not over – the group gathered back together for Brunch on Sunday, sharing special memories, celebrating new friendships and toasting the happiness and good health of this Swedish couple before guests flew back to their homeland leaving Oscar and Cornelia to start their next chapter together in this Winter Wonderland.
