The beauty of our job and what we do is that no events are ever the same. There is no script, set packages or off the shelf products. For successful events to flourish, it takes time to create bespoke wedding packages to suit each couple. The brief was simple; ‘Texan couple who wished to get married in England, would love to hear what you propose’, Cotswold wedding planning began.
In the Autumn of 2022, the very talented wedding planner Emma Westacott contacted us. She was looking for a proposal for her Texan clients wanting to get married at one of our well trusted wedding venues Euridge Manor.
Plans were underway, gathering ideas for Emily & Matt’s three-day celebration. We focused on how best to use Euridge Manor’s grounds and make the most of the time that the Texan guests and couple would have on British soil. The Groom requested a BBQ for the opening evening. We knew the level of detail and passion Texans have for a great feast, so we started working on developing a marinade. The BBQ menu included smoked brisket, ribs, beans in beer and a runway of salads.
We added a margarita bar, powered by staff in cowboy hats. These staff later become real cowboys, ushering all the guests into the stretch tent when the English heaven’s opened. Rain often dampens spirits, however the Texans embraced it and the night become a good ole’ fashioned hoedown – setting the standard and energy for what was to come.
Al Fresco Wedding Breakfast
Emily & Matt were rightfully blessed with a perfect British Summer’s Day. The Texans could really see why the couple had chosen a Cotswold Wedding. The celebrations were styled beautifully with opulent flowers by Mary Jane Vaughan, the tables dressed for each part of the occasion with the iconic Maison Margaux linen and tableware by Options Great hire.
The Ceremony
The ceremony set up on the main lawn was exquisite, followed by canapes and cocktails in the Lost Orangery. The al fresco wedding breakfast took place under the pergola with a summer inspired menu. A beautiful sunset led onto the champagne tower that welcomed guests into the Ballroom for speeches and dancing. This Texan group showed us how they could party at the Texan BBQ. It was therefore no surprise that the evening wedding celebrations were fun beyond belief.
A clear early English Summer evening allowed for our American guests to enjoy the gourds late into the evening. Staff were busy preparing for the brunch the following day on the Orangery terrace. Months of planning and preparation was soon coming to the end and one last culinary feast was to be served on the final day.
Brunch – The Last Day
Guests arrived for brunch, a selection of pop-up dining areas floated around a central Bloody Mary bar and Coffee station. Healthy akai bowls, fruits and raw juices lit up the marble table tops whilst selections of hot items filled the help yourself stations.
So often, we meet incredible people from around the world and this year has been one to remember for our neighbours across the pond. English weddings for American couples have been super popular and Emily and Matt’s wedding is certainly one we’ll never forget; especially the Texan BBQ evening!
